Catrin joined Chambers as a Pupil in April 2024 and will be available to accept instructions starting October 2024 across all practice areas.
Catrin is from Abergavenny in Monmouthshire and went to school at Ysgol Gyfun Gwynllyw in Pontypool. She studied Law at Aberystwyth University and has since completed an LLM in International Development Law and Human Rights at the University of Warwick and an MRes at the University of South Wales, where she conducted a realist review of a domestic abuse programme for children with Additional Learning Needs.
During her undergraduate, Catrin gained a position with Camp America to work at Camp Wawbeek in Wisconsin, USA, where she supported children and adults with disabilities. This sparked her interest in advocacy and social justice leading her to undertaking an internship with the United Nations, supporting policy and communications at the Habitat III United Nations Conference on Housing and Sustainable Urban Development in Quito, Ecuador. Prior to embarking on her barristerial career, Catrin worked for various public sector organisations and was a researcher at the Children’s Social Care Research and Development Centre (CASCADE) at Cardiff University, focusing on social policy and practice.
As a result of her experiences, Catrin has a keen interest in administrative and public law, employment, education, housing, environmental and land disputes. As a fluent Welsh speaker, Catrin is happy to take instructions in Welsh.
In her free time, Catrin enjoys long distance running, spending quality time with her son and volunteering as a Trustee at Family Mediation Cymru.
