The Bar Mock Trial Competition regional heats will take place this weekend at the Cardiff Crown Court. The competition sees teams of 15 students from each school competing against each other in the active learning competition which is organised by the Citizenship Foundation. Students take the roles of lawyers, witnesses, court staff and jurors: local legal professional take control of proceedings by sitting as the Judge giving the students a real insight into the criminal justice system.
Members of chambers have been acting as 'barrister mentors' to students at St Joseph's Roman Catholic High School in Newport and Stroud High School for this years competition.
16 regional heats will take place over the coming weeks with each regional winner proceedings to the national final. Chambers wishes all participants, and our two schools in particular, the best of luck at Satruday's heat.
