Westminster Policy Forum for Wales: Reforming the planning system in Wales

Graham Walters, Head of the Public, Planning & Regulatory Group at Civitas Law has been invigted to join a panel of planning and sustainability experts at the Westminster Policy Forum for Wales' next event: Reforming the planning system for Wales. 

Graham and the panel will look at Structure and organisation in the planning system in Wales - what the role of the Welsh Government should be in coordinating planning and in taking 'nationally significant decisions'. He will be joined by:

  • Roisin Wilmott, National Director, RTPI, Cymru
  • Chris Sutton, Director, Jones Lang LaSalle, Cardiff
  • Jane Carpenter, Planning Director, Redrow Homes South Wales
  • George Ashworth, Head of Planning, Place and Enterprise, Monmouthshire County Council

Shadow Minister for the Environment & Sustainability (Plaid Cymru), Llyr Gruffydd AM will chair the event on the 18 March 2013 in Cardiff, which also features keynote speeches from:

  • John Davies, Chair, Independent Advisory Group (and former Director for Wales at the Planning Inspectorate, 2006 - 2011)
  • Rosemary Thomas, Chief Planner and Deputy Director, Department for Environment & Sustainable Development, Welsh Government
