Richard Cole and Owain Rhys James have been appointed as Judicial Officers for World Rugby following assessment over a number of days at Twickenham Stadium during the London leg of the World Sevens series. Both enjoyed tutorials from World Rugby’s Senior Counsel, Ben Rutherford and Yvonne Nolan, and were personally assessed by World Rugby’s Chief Judicial Officer, Christopher Quinlan QC, as they chaired a disciplinary hearing. They also observed a hearing chaired by the CJO and the mechanics that allow it to take place at short notice over the weekend. Owain and Richard also managed to enjoy the rugby on offer. Both look forward to working for World Rugby in their new roles which will involve international matches taking place across the world.
Owain and Richard are available to undertake work on behalf of players and organisations in the sporting world and would use their high level experience in rugby union to full effect.
