The legal landscape for landlords and tenants in Wales is changing. The implementation of the Welsh Government’s flagship reform programme is imminent with tenancy agreements being replaced by “occupation contracts”.
Lucy King and Owain Rhys James have both been instructed by the Welsh Ministers to advise on consequential amendments required in the light of the bringing into force of the key provisions of the Renting Homes (Wales) Act.
Lucy and Owain are also (jointly) instructed by Registered Social Landlords to draft occupation contracts; to review and advise on contracts; to advise on policy and implementation; and to provide training. During this time of change, Lucy and Owain are working closely and collaboratively with in-house solicitors and those acting for RSLs, together with acting directly for Housing Directors and officers and are able to provide a bespoke package of drafting, advice and training services. That work is being carried out bilingually.
If you are interested in instructing Lucy and Owain to draft, advise or provide training; please do not hesitate to contact the Clerks. Other members of Chambers’ social housing and Public Law team are also on hand to assist.
