Excellent review in Chambers & Partners' UK Bar 2014

The new edition of the Chambers and Partners' UK Bar Guide has confirmed the quality of the barristers at Civitas Law.  All here are of course grateful to those who have provided such positive feedback to the researchers.

In particular the number of ratings Chambers has received has put Chambers into the Guide's table for those with the highest proportion of ratings: 23 ratings for our 21 barristers - the only Chambers in Wales to be in the table.

Shortlisted for Regional Chambers of the Year

Civitas Law was shortlisted for Regional Chambers of the Year in The Legal 500 Awards this week. The only Chambers from Wales, Civitas Law was pipped to the post by a set from the Midlands.

Nick David Jones, barrister and member of the Management Board of Civitas Law said "We are grateful to our clients for having given such good feedback on the level of service provided here.  After such good ratings in the new The Legal 500 confirming the strength of our practices both in and well beyond Wales, we are pleased with this news."

Representing your client at Mediation: Getting your client to the table

There is a greater push by Government for Mediation and other Alternative Dispute Resolution mechanisms to be used at all stages of the planning system - particularly in light of the forthcoming Wales Planning Bill.

However, despite time and cost implications - as well as more sustanable outcomes for all - it is not always clear for the public, planners, developers, local authorities and other stakeholders when ADR can be applied and how it would work in practice.
